CHAT (children, health and therapy) was set up in June 2003 to support children within Buckinghamshire who have individual health needs. CHAT has in the past raised funds specifically to provide additional equipment for which there is no NHS funding available. CHAT aims to continue this support as well as raise funds for additional respite care.
Following evidence gathered in consultation with the families who struggle daily to care for their children who have complex health needs, it has been identified that there is a huge unmet demand for respite care within Buckinghamshire.
Most of us know how tiring it is when our child gets a virus and requires round the clock care. This can be exhausting, a drain on family life and relationships suffer. Imagine that being your whole life….
CHAT is dedicated to providing additional free respite care services for the families in Bucks. Ultimately we will raise funds for two paediatric nurses and two specialist health care assistants.
