CHAT (children, health and therapy) was set up in June 2003 to support children living in Buckinghamshire who have individual health needs. CHAT is able to fund grants for respite care and equipment.
Respite Care Grants
Families with children who have individual health needs are often on duty for 24 hours a day and need some time in order to re-charge their batteries.
CHAT offers grants to these families to fund short-term care in the children's own home.
Applications may be made using the attached downloadable application form. On approval of the application the charity refers the family to a local home-nursing agency to deliver the care.
See some case histories and feedback.
Equipment Grants
CHAT also provides grants to the children's therapists in Aylesbury who deliver speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. The grants provide equipment for which there is no state funding.
