A two year old boy with Ohtahara Syndrome – CHAT was able to finance 3 sessions of 5 hours to enable his young mother to take a short rest from her caring role.
A nine year old girl with Tuberous sclerosis and other complications – CHAT financed care for 4 hours per week during the school summer holidays to enable her mother to spend some time with her other children.
A Teenage boy with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy who is now in a wheelchair and requires supervision at night- CHAT was able to fund 6 nights care to enable his parents to have an unbroken night’s sleep. Following 3 of these sessions the family was awarded one night’s care per week which is finances by the county council.
A teenage boy with Sanfilippo syndrome and Perthes’ disease whose after school care club was terminated– CHAT was able to finance 36 hours care spread over 4 weeks to help the family cope with after school care while they arranged a more permanent solution.
A two year old girl with Cerebral Palsy- CHAT financed 10 hours care for 4 weeks while her mother gave birth to her second child.
A one year old girl who had had tracheostomy, cleft repair and hydrocephalus operations - CHAT was able to fund a few evening sessions to enable the parents to have some quality time together.
An eight year old boy who is unable to walk or communicate already received 2 hours care each evening to help his mother with tea time and bed time. CHAT agreed to finance 30 hours care so that the family can take some time out at weekends to spend some time with their other children.
An eleven year old boy who is a wheelchair user and unable to communicate verbally and needs support to eat and drink – CHAT was able to finance 36 hours care over 6 weeks as a temporary solution to providing more regular support for the parents in their caring role.
