Mayor opens CHAT Multi-Sensory Room
A Sensory room for children with special needs was opened
within the Sue Nicholls Centre Wing Unit at Aylesbury on Saturday
8th October 2005.
The Mayor of Aylesbury, Councilor Denise Summers officially
opened the £14,000
Multi-Sensory room. The event was also attended by Christopher
Brewer from Brewers Paint Company, which donated £10,000
to the project as part of the company's centenary celebrations.
Further contributions came from The Buckinghamshire Masons,
who donated £3,000, and Aylesbury Town Council which gave
£1,000.
Wendy Greenway, from the Queen's Park
Arts Centre's crochet group, also presented
a children's activity blanket to the Wing unit.
Jan Tubman, fundraising administrator for CHAT said "The
sensory room can be very stimulating for the children but also
very relaxing. The looks on their faces when they were first
taken into the room were all the thanks we needed."
