What a busy year! I thought it was about time you had an update on how CHAT is doing in 2013....
CHAT has successfully secured grants from Roald Dahl, ACT Foundation and Rothschild Foundation. This money will enable us to continue providing much needed respite care packages for families in Bucks with children who have complex health needs.
Thanks to Buckingham Park Community Centre sponsoring CHAT this year we were able to slip in an extra quiz night in July. A fun evening was had by all and great thanks goes to all who attended. It was nice to see some new faces among the familiar.
CHAT held its first stand at a music festival this July This was held at Penn and maybe with a little credit to the glorious weather, it was a successful weekend - not only for fundraising but also helped widen the profile of the charity and we met a few useful contacts.
WHERE YOUR MONEY HAS GONE...
We have been able to help support many families again this year by providing funding for them to receive short term respite care packages in their own home.
We have also been able to help the therapists at the Sue Nicholls Centre and have funded the toys and equipment for a therapy room for use of the children who attend therapy services.
We are currently the charity of the year for Kings Farm Shop, Preloved and Buckingham Park Community Centre.
As you know the CHAT shop was opened in May.. We are happily making more progress as each month passes. Thank you to all of you who have generously donated and/or shopped with us. To remind you .. The shop is situated in Cambridge Street, Aylesbury, opposite the food entrance to Marks and Spencer. We are open six days a week.
We are in huge need of further donations and if you are having a sort out or know anyone who is we would gratefully receive any good quality unwanted clothing, bric a brac, electrical, toys, records, cds, dvds etc..... We are happy to collect if needed.
Please visit the CHAT shop regularly to take advantage of the special offers.
Keep a watch out for our Halloween and Christmas Grotto Spectaculars.
Events Until End Of 2013
Please see attached diary for you to print for your information.
As you can see we have a couple of new events coming up.
Battle of the Bands,... we are looking for young local bands to take part in a musical competition to be held at Queenspark Centre.
Are you in a band and would like to take part?
Would you like to come along and cheer for the best band?
Are you good at design and fancy designing the poster for this event?
Or are you in the music industry and are able to provide a themed raffle prize for the evening?
We would love to hear from you......
Fashion Show..... The Grange School have kindly offered to host a fashion show in aid of CHAT, using the clothing from the CHAT Shop.
Do you have a flair for fashion design? Would you like to help make up the outfits for our models?
Are you a craft/ trader and fancy a stand at this event?
Or would you be able to donate your time to do the make up and hair on the night?
We would love to hear from you......
We are also looking for volunteers to host their own events... maybe hold a coffee morning at work for CHAT? Or a bonfire evening? Or would you be interested in taking part in an organised skydive event for CHAT? or running in the London 10k next May, or cycling to Brighton. If any of these activities interest you please don't hesitate to contact me.
Or would you be able to take a collection box for CHAT or know anywhere which could host a textile recycling bin for the charity?
The charity would not be what it is and we would not be able to help the families we do without your continued support. Whether you give time as a volunteer, donate items for the shop, or sponsor the charity or events, or attend our events, we appreciate all of what you do.
THANK YOU !
